I am waiting!

In a little over 12 hours, NMIMS University will experience a euphoric mix of agonized ecstasy and infectious enthusiasm, as the curtains draw open for the annual sports fest, ‘Samarthya’. It’s not often that these things happen. When they do, make sure to make the most of it. So, what’s the big deal about it?
For some people, it’s just another happening in this extra large MBA world, full of events. For others, it could mean holidays. For sports buffs like me, it’s everything. People ask me “How do you feel when playing?” I mostly say “Alive!” There’s more to it than meets the eye.
The Perspective
After every day in college, you mostly feel like a fruit put in the juicer

Wake up...
And the beginnings of the days are no fun either! (See that video) For IT work-ex people like me, weekends are important. Here there are no weekends. Whenever holiday happens, that’s a holiday and that’s about it. All that we know (in the name of ‘enjoyment’) is some dirty beach, a mad party and some form of water. Honestly guys, all this get meaningless after a while.  It’s only when something like this (Samarthya) happens, we feel the blood in our body, at least the sports folk.

The wait…

It’s not easy waiting… especially when you have to do some assignments, pre-reads and homework with the fest in striking distance. The Sports ultravaganza will happen for three days from November 7. Quite a few elite B-school students will forget their work and worry and be in action.
“If you enjoy sports, raise your hands
If you don’t, raise your standards!”
We will have most of the usual suspects from Mumbai – SP Jain, KJ Somaiya, NITIE among others. NMIMS, being the home team, will have the privilege to field two teams in every sport.
 Why should you be there?
It’s going to be thrilling – yes, and we mean that! There are few things better than supporting your team and sledging the other college teams. You won’t get this change again for at least 365 days. This can also be the chance to make new friends, and have a good look at some nice people from other campuses, if you know what I mean!
With Paragana coming this fortnight, this will be the perfect run up to it. When sports and business come together, it’s good business for the college. And we have a moral obligation to make it a success.
The time has come for NMIMS to stand united and make winning a habit. Remember – all this will be history. The sports guys are ready. Are you?
 Be there! Save the dates!
“We are waiting!”
